Technical SEO Services That Fix What Holds Your Site Back
Your content can be good and still struggle in search if Google can't find your pages, load them quickly or understand them. Torplix's technical SEO services fix those problems at the source, so the pages you already have can perform. Plans start at $300 a month, one-off fix projects start at $900, and the audit that finds the problems is free.
Technical SEO is the work behind the scenes: how your site is built, how fast it loads, how search engines crawl it, and which pages end up in Google's index. It matters most for larger sites, online stores, sites built on JavaScript, and any site that has just been redesigned or moved.
What Our Technical SEO Services Include
Every site is different, so we start with what the audit finds and fix the most important problems first. These are the areas we cover.
Crawling and indexingCan Google reach your pages, and are the right ones indexed?
If Google can't reach a page, it can't rank it. We check your robots.txt file, noindex tags, crawl errors, blocked resources and pages that are missing from Google's index but should be there. We also look for the opposite problem, which is pages in the index that should not be, such as test pages and thin duplicate pages. Google Search Console is the main source for this work.
Site architecture and internal linkingURL structure, menus and links that guide visitors and Google.
How your pages link together decides how easily visitors and search engines find your important content. We look at your URL structure, menus, how many clicks it takes to reach key pages, and orphan pages that nothing links to. Then we fix the structure so your main pages get the links and attention they deserve.
Page speed and Core Web VitalsHeavy images, scripts and slow responses, fixed.
Slow pages lose visitors before they read a word. Google describes Core Web Vitals as "a set of metrics that measure real-world user experience for loading performance, interactivity, and visual stability of the page." Its own guidance says it highly recommends site owners achieve good Core Web Vitals for success with Search. We find what slows your pages down, such as heavy images, unused scripts and slow server responses, and fix what we can on the site.
Mobile and JavaScript renderingChecking Google sees the same content you do.
Google crawls, renders and indexes pages in separate steps. Pages that depend heavily on JavaScript can show up in Google with missing content if something goes wrong in the middle. We check that the content you see in a browser is the content Google can see. Google's own JavaScript SEO guide says server-side or pre-rendering "is still a great idea because it makes your website faster for users and crawlers." We also check how your pages behave on phones, since that is how most people reach them.
Structured dataCode that tells search engines what a page is about.
Structured data is code that tells search engines what a page is about, such as a product, an article or a business. Google says it uses structured data "to understand the content of the page." It does not guarantee a fancy listing in search results, so we add it where it fits your content and test that it is valid, without promising rich results.
Duplicate content and canonicalsOne page, one preferred address.
The same page can be reachable at several addresses, such as with and without a trailing slash, or with tracking parameters. Google's documentation on canonicals says consolidating duplicates helps search engines "consolidate the signals they have for the individual URLs (such as links to them) into a single, preferred URL." We find the duplicates and tell Google which version to use.
Redirects and site migrationsMoving a site without losing traffic.
Moving to a new design, a new domain or a new URL structure is where many sites lose traffic. We map old addresses to new ones before the move, check that redirects work after launch, and watch for errors. Google says permanent redirects "don't cause a loss in PageRank," but also warns that "with any significant change to a site, you may experience ranking fluctuations while Google recrawls and reindexes your site." Careful planning keeps that dip as short as possible.
Sitemaps, robots.txt and monitoringThe rules and lists Google reads first, watched monthly.
We make sure your XML sitemap lists the pages you want indexed, that robots.txt does not block anything important, and that errors in Search Console are checked each month. Technical problems often come back after a site update, so on a monthly plan we keep watching.
Signs Your Site Has a Technical SEO Problem
You don't need a tool to spot some of the common signs. Look for these:
Pages you want in search results don't show up in Google.
Your traffic dropped after a redesign, a platform change or a move to a new domain.
Pages take several seconds to load, especially on a phone.
Search Console shows errors, excluded pages or warnings you don't understand.
The same page appears at more than one address.
Your site is built on JavaScript and some content is missing when you view the page source.
Your site has hundreds or thousands of pages and only a few get any traffic.
Your developer and your marketer each think the other is handling it.
If you recognise two or more of these, a technical audit is worth doing. If you recognise none, you may not need us yet.
How Our Technical SEO Audit Works
The process is the same for every site. The size of the work depends on what the audit finds.
Free audit
We crawl your site, check Search Console and test speed on mobile. This shows what is broken and how serious it is.
Prioritized report
You get a written list of issues in priority order, in plain language, with what to fix first and why.
Quote
If you want our help, we price the work in writing before anything starts. If you would rather give the list to your own developer, the report is yours to keep.
Fixes
We fix what we can on the site and give your developer clear instructions for anything that needs code changes on their side.
Check and monitor
After the fixes, we re-crawl the site to confirm they worked, and on a monthly plan we keep watching for new problems.
What the report looks like
Here is an example of how we rank issues. It is an illustration of the format, not a result from a real client.
| Priority | Example issue | Why it matters | Who fixes it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Critical | Key service pages blocked by a noindex tag | Google is told not to show them | We fix it |
| High | Redirect chains after a site move | Slows crawling and wastes link signals | We or your developer |
| Medium | Large images slow down the main pages | Hurts loading speed on mobile | We fix it |
| Low | Missing schema on older blog posts | Small benefit, fix when time allows | We fix it |
Technical SEO Pricing
Technical SEO prices vary a lot because sites vary a lot. Here is what other agencies typically charge, and then what we charge.
What other agencies charge
Published pricing guides from technical SEO agencies point to these typical ranges:
| Type of work | Typical cost |
|---|---|
| One-time audit or fix | $500 to $5,000 |
| Project package | From $1,500 |
| Monthly retainer | $1,000 to $5,000 or more |
| Hourly consulting | $100 to $300 per hour |
These figures come from agencies describing their own market, so treat them as typical ranges and not fixed rates. Price depends on the size and complexity of the site and how deep the work goes.
Sources: ranges from Bridgeway Digital (2025). Monthly averages of about $1,000 are also reported by IMPACT (2019) and Hennessey Digital (2020).
What drives the price
Site size. A 50 page site and a 50,000 page site are very different jobs.
The platform. Some platforms are easy to fix. Others need developer work.
How many problems there are. A clean site needs a light check. A site with years of buildup needs a long clean-up first.
Developer involvement. If fixes need custom code, the work takes longer.

Who Needs Technical SEO (And Who Doesn't)
Technical SEO is not the right first step for every site. We would rather tell you that now than sell you work you don't need.
Technical SEO is most useful if
- You run an online store or a site with hundreds or thousands of pages.
- You have just redesigned, changed platform or moved domains, or you are about to.
- Your site relies heavily on JavaScript.
- Pages that should be in Google are not, or traffic dropped without a clear reason.
- Your site is slow, especially on mobile.
You may not need it yet if
- You have a small site with a handful of pages. Our small business SEO plans already include the technical fixes a small site needs.
- Your site is new and has little content. Content and links will do more for you than technical work right now.
- You run an online store. You may be better served by our ecommerce SEO services, which cover technical work alongside product pages and collections.
Technical SEO is part of our wider SEO services. If your site's problems are mostly about design or speed, our website design and development team can help as well.
How to Choose a Technical SEO Provider
Technical SEO is hard to judge from the outside, so the way a provider talks about it tells you a lot. Use these questions and red flags to tell them apart.
Questions to ask
- What will you check, and in what order? You should get a clear process, not a generic checklist.
- What will you fix yourselves, and what will you hand to my developer? Be sure someone owns each fix.
- Will you explain every change? Google's guide to hiring an SEO says that if an SEO has server access, "they should be willing to explain all the changes they are making to your site."
- How will you measure success? Look for indexed pages, speed scores, errors fixed and traffic, not vague promises.
- Do I keep access to everything? Your site, Search Console and analytics should stay in your name.
Red flags
- Guaranteed rankings. Google's same guide says "No one can guarantee a #1 ranking on Google."
- Secrecy. Be careful if a company won't clearly explain what it plans to do.
- A generic audit. A report that is just a tool's output with a logo on it tells you nothing about what to do first.
- No prices anywhere. You should not need three sales calls to find the range.
- Unsolicited emails. Google also advises caution with firms that email you out of the blue.

Technical SEO FAQs
What is technical SEO?
Technical SEO is the work that helps search engines crawl, understand and index your site. It covers site structure, speed, mobile performance, redirects, duplicate pages, structured data and similar behind-the-scenes factors. It makes sure your content can be found. It does not replace good content.
What is a technical SEO audit?
A technical SEO audit is a review of how your site performs for search engines. It looks for crawl errors, indexing problems, slow pages, broken links, duplicate content and other issues, then ranks them by importance. Ours is free and comes as a written report you can keep.
How much do technical SEO services cost?
Other agencies typically charge $500 to $5,000 for a one-time audit or fix, from about $1,500 for a project package, and $1,000 to $5,000 or more for a monthly retainer. Torplix technical SEO starts at $300 a month, or $900 for a one-off project, and the audit is free. We confirm the final price in writing.
How long does technical SEO take to work?
It depends on the fix. Google says that changes to a site can take effect in a few hours or several months. After a site move, its documentation says it "can take a few weeks or more for Google to gradually start showing the new URLs instead of the old ones" for medium-sized sites. We give you a timeframe for each fix after the audit.
What is the difference between technical SEO and on-page SEO?
On-page SEO is about the content of a page, such as its title, headings and wording. Technical SEO is about how the whole site works, such as speed, crawling and structure. A page needs both. Good content on a page Google can't index will not rank.
How often do I need a technical SEO audit?
Run one before and after any big change, such as a redesign, a platform change or a site move. Outside of those, a regular check every few months catches problems before they cost you traffic. A monthly plan includes ongoing monitoring.
Do you need access to my website?
For the free audit, your website address is enough. If you go ahead with fixes, we need access to your site or CMS, plus Search Console and analytics. Access is always given in your name, and you can remove it at any time.
Will technical SEO guarantee higher rankings?
No. Technical fixes remove obstacles, and that often helps, but rankings depend on content, links, competition and more. Google itself says no one can guarantee a #1 ranking. We promise clear work and honest reporting, not a position.
