Best AI Website Builders in 2026: 7 Compared

best ai website builder

The best AI website builder is the one that fits what you need to publish, what you can spend over a full year and how much control you want later. This guide compares seven AI website builders using what each one says on its own website, so you can build a shortlist without opening seven pricing pages.

A note before the list. Torplix designs and builds websites, so we have a stake in this topic. No builder paid to be on this list, and we did not build a site on each one for this guide. Everything below comes from each builder’s own pages, which we read on 21 October 2026. Prices and plans change often, so check the current page before you buy.

Quick answer

There is no single best AI website builder. In our reading, Wix is the easiest place to start, with a free plan and a visual editor. Hostinger has the lowest published starting price, but that price needs a long term and renews higher. Framer and Webflow suit people who want more design control. Squarespace lets you try before paying, with no card needed. GoDaddy and 10Web build the whole site from a prompt, and 10Web runs on WordPress. Whichever you pick, you still have to check the words the AI writes and read the renewal terms.

How we picked these AI website builders

We did not use a scoring system, because a score we made up could not be checked. We used three plain rules.

  • It builds a website, not only a page of text. Each builder on the list says it can create a site with AI, and hosts the result.
  • It is widely used. We picked builders that show up again and again when you look for the best AI website builder, from beginner tools to designer tools.
  • It is readable on its own site. We only used what we could read on the builder’s own pricing and product pages on 21 October 2026.

Here is what we did not do. We did not build a site on each platform, so we cannot tell you how fast or how good each result is. We do not rank the builders. They appear in alphabetical order. Features, limits and prices are the builder’s own statements, and we label them that way.

We also left out tools that mainly generate app code for developers. They solve a different problem, and a developer is the usual reader. If you want a wider look at AI tools for running a business, see our guide to the best AI tools for business.

The 7 best AI website builders

Each profile follows the same pattern: who it suits, what its own page says about price and the AI, and what to check before you pay. They appear in alphabetical order.

10Web

10Web builds on WordPress and hosts the site for you, so the AI sits on top of a platform you may already know.

  • Best for: People who want a WordPress site built by AI and hosted in one place.
  • Free plan: No free plan. Its page offers a 3 day free trial with 5 AI credits, and says you must upgrade to a paid plan to keep the site live.
  • Pricing: Its pricing page shows AI Starter at $10 a month, or $120 for 12 months against a stated regular price of $240. AI Premium is $15 a month and AI Ultimate is $22.50. Starter covers one site with 100 AI credits a month. It lists a 30 day money back guarantee that applies until you claim the free domain.
  • What the AI does: Its page says you start with a prompt, a link or a file, and 10Web plans the site, builds each page and runs it. You can then edit with the AI editor or a visual editor. Stores run on WooCommerce.
  • Limits to know: The page is inconsistent on cost. One place says you can publish for free and another says to pay when you launch. Figma import does not yet support extra inputs.
  • Worth checking: Whether you can move the site to another host. The pages we read do not describe export, so ask before you commit.

Framer

Framer is a design focused builder. Its AI agent works inside the editor, so you can ask for changes after the first draft.

  • Best for: Designers and marketers who want close control over layout and are happy to pay per site.
  • Free plan: Yes. The free plan includes 500 AI credits to try, a Framer domain and 1 GB of bandwidth. The credits apply only while the workspace has no paid plan.
  • Pricing: Its pricing page shows Basic at $10 a month and Pro at $30 a month, per site. It has a yearly billing toggle but does not label which rate is which, so confirm the price at checkout. Extra editors cost $20 each.
  • What the AI does: Its page says the agent creates editable pages, sections, copy and visuals, and can review a site for contrast issues, typos, missing alt text and SEO gaps.
  • Limits to know: A custom domain needs a paid plan. Basic allows 30 pages and Pro 150. Credits power the agent, so heavy use can run through them.
  • Worth checking: How many pages and CMS items your site needs, since those caps decide which plan you need.

GoDaddy

GoDaddy’s AI builder is called Airo. You describe the site in plain language and refine it by talking to it.

  • Best for: People who want to start free and talk their way to a first version, and who may want to edit the code later.
  • Free plan: Yes. Its page says to start free with 50 AI credits a month, no card needed.
  • Pricing: The pages we read show no prices for paid plans, only a plan based model and a free domain with annual plans. Check its pricing page for the current figures.
  • What the AI does: Its page says Airo generates pages, web apps, databases and logic, and lets you view or edit the generated code.
  • Limits to know: Credits expire at the end of each billing cycle and do not roll over. Extra credits can be bought.
  • Worth checking: The real monthly cost after the free start, since we could not see it. Also ask what happens to the free domain if you leave.

Hostinger

Hostinger sells the lowest published starting price on this list, but the low rate comes with a long commitment.

  • Best for: People who want the cheapest published start and are comfortable paying for a long term upfront.
  • Free plan: No permanent free plan. Its page offers a 14 day free trial and a 30 day money back guarantee.
  • Pricing: Its website builder page shows Premium at $2.49 a month, which is $119.52 paid upfront for 48 months. Unlimited is $3.49 and Cloud Startup is $7.99. They renew at $10.99, $16.99 and $25.99 a month. A free domain is included for the first year.
  • What the AI does: Its page says you describe your idea and the AI creates a starting design. Agent mode builds websites and web apps from prompts, and manual mode is a drag and drop editor.
  • Limits to know: The AI credits are a one time gift: 250 on Premium, 500 on Unlimited and 1,000 on Cloud Startup. Online store features start on the Unlimited plan. Unlimited features are subject to a fair usage policy.
  • Worth checking: The renewal price, not the headline price. The first 48 months look cheap, and the page shows the rate rising afterward.

Squarespace

Squarespace starts every site with a free trial, and its AI tools come with every plan.

  • Best for: People who want to try a builder before paying, and want AI tools on every plan.
  • Free plan: No free plan, but every site starts with a 14 day free trial and no card is needed.
  • Pricing: Its pricing page shows two prices per plan, without labels: Basic $25 and $19, Core $39 and $29, Plus $65 and $49, and Advanced $139 and $99. It says paying annually saves up to 36%, so the lower figure appears to be the annual rate. A free domain for the first year comes with annual plans.
  • What the AI does: Its AI builder page says you describe your business and answer a few questions, and it creates a multi-page starting point with content, imagery and styling. You can edit in the drag and drop editor or ask the AI assistant. Publishing needs a paid plan. Its pricing page says all plans include built in AI tools, with AI credits that reset monthly: 20 on Core, 40 on Plus and 120 on Advanced. Basic has 10, once.
  • Limits to know: You need a paid plan to publish a site built in the trial. The Basic plan charges a 2% transaction fee on an online store. Core, Plus and Advanced charge 0%. The free domain renews at the standard rate after the first year.
  • Worth checking: Whether you will run out of AI credits if you plan to rebuild pages often, especially on Basic.

Webflow

Webflow is a visual design tool first, and its AI features sit on top of that. It prices sites and workspaces separately.

  • Best for: People who want design control and may need to take their code with them.
  • Free plan: Yes. The free Starter site plan uses a webflow.io domain and allows 2 static pages, 1 GB of bandwidth a month and 50 CMS items.
  • Pricing: Its pricing page lists site plans, billed yearly: Basic at $15 a month and Premium at $25. It lists workspace plans separately, billed yearly: Core at $19 a month and Growth at $49.
  • What the AI does: Its page describes an AI site builder, copy drafts, CMS item creation, and SEO and answer engine audits. It marks design sections as beta. Its page says the AI builder does not lock you into rigid templates and allows customization through code.
  • Limits to know: Some AI features need a paid workspace plan. Workspace AI credits are 200 a month on Starter, 300 on Core and 400 on Growth. Code export appears on its plan table under Core and Growth, while its FAQ says any paid workspace plan, so confirm before you rely on it.
  • Worth checking: The total you pay once you add a site plan and a workspace plan.

Wix

Wix has a free plan that needs no card. Its older AI tool, Wix ADI, was retired on 10 November 2024, so the AI builder today is a newer one.

  • Best for: Small businesses that want a free start, a visual editor and the option to add payments and bookings later.
  • Free plan: Yes. No card is required, and it includes hosting and a drag and drop editor.
  • Pricing: Its plans page shows prices billed yearly and paid upfront: Light $17.77 a month, Core $29.77, Business $39.77 and Business Elite $159.77. Light is about $213 for the year, before tax. It offers a 14 day money back guarantee on the first upgrade.
  • What the AI does: Its page says you describe your business in a prompt and the AI generates a site structure with pages, layout and copy. You can edit by hand or with its AI agent, Aria. It also lists SEO tools, including an AI meta tag creator.
  • Limits to know: A custom domain and online payments need a paid plan. The free domain is a voucher for new domains, valid for one year and redeemable within 60 days.
  • Worth checking: The cost of the domain after the first year, and whether the plan you need includes the store or booking features you want.

What AI website builders still do badly

The pages above are sales pages, so they stress speed. These are the limits that matter after the first draft.

You still have to check the words

An AI builder writes a first draft of your copy. Google’s guidance on using generative AI content says it is critical to manually fact check and review all AI generated content for accuracy and trustworthiness, and that includes titles, meta descriptions and image alt text. It also warns that using AI to generate many pages without adding value for users may break its spam policy. Google does not ban AI content. A site built in one afternoon from a prompt can still be thin, so add real details about your business, customers and prices.

Credits run out

Most builders meter the AI. Hostinger gives its credits once. GoDaddy credits expire each billing cycle. Squarespace Basic gives 10 credits, once. Webflow resets credits monthly. If you plan to rebuild pages often, read how credits work before you pick a plan.

Plan limits show up later

The first draft is free or cheap. Limits appear when the site grows. Framer Basic allows 30 pages. The Webflow free plan allows 2 static pages. Wix needs a paid plan for a custom domain and payments. None of this is hidden, but it is easy to miss when you compare headline prices.

Moving your site out can be hard

Webflow’s pricing page lists HTML and CSS export on paid workspace plans. For the other six, we did not find export terms on the pages we read. In our view, ask each builder how you could leave before you invest weeks in building there.

Many sites start to look alike

In our view, prompt built sites can look and read like each other, because the AI works from common patterns. A distinct brand, real photos and your own wording are what set a site apart, and the AI does not supply those.

How much an AI website builder costs

On the pages we read, the lowest paid plans run from $2.49 a month to $19 a month, depending on the builder and how long you commit. GoDaddy did not show paid prices on the pages we read, so it is not in that range. Three things change the real cost.

  • The term. Hostinger’s $2.49 is the monthly equivalent of a 48 month purchase, paid upfront. Wix, Squarespace and Webflow quote yearly billing. A month to month plan costs more.
  • Renewal. Hostinger lists renewal rates of $10.99, $16.99 and $25.99 a month. Wix and Squarespace give a free domain for the first year only.
  • Extras. Framer charges $20 for each extra editor and $20 for each extra language. Webflow sells extra AI credits at $20 a month for 2,000. Webflow also prices a site plan and a workspace plan separately.

Before you pay, write down what you will pay in year one and in year two. Include the domain, any store fees and any extra seats. The cheapest plan on paper is not always the cheapest one to run.

When to hire a web designer instead

An AI website builder is a good fit for a simple site that you will manage yourself. In our view, a designer is the better choice in these cases.

  • Your website is how you win customers. If most of your leads start on the site, the structure, words and speed deserve a person who does this every day.
  • You need something custom. Special forms, integrations, a complex store or several languages tend to hit builder limits.
  • You are replacing an existing site. Moving pages, keeping search rankings and fixing old links takes planning that a prompt does not do.
  • You do not have time to learn a tool. A builder is cheap in money and costs time. If your time is worth more than the fee, hire it out.

A middle path also works. Build the first version on a builder, then have a designer review it. If you want to see how we work, read about our website design and development services.

AI website builder FAQ

What is the best free AI website builder?

Wix has the most generous free plan on this list. Its page says no card is required and it includes hosting and a drag and drop editor. The catch is that a custom domain and payments need a paid plan. Framer gives 500 AI credits to try but no custom domain. GoDaddy gives 50 AI credits a month. Webflow’s free plan allows 2 static pages.

Which AI website builder is best for beginners?

In our reading, Wix and Hostinger are the easiest to start with, because each pairs AI building with a drag and drop editor you can use by hand. Wix also has a free plan with no card. Whichever you pick, use the trial or free plan first and build one real page before you pay.

Will an AI built website rank on Google?

It can, but the AI does not decide that. Google says AI generated content is not banned, and that it must meet its quality standards and spam policies. Check the facts, add original detail and make each page useful. No builder can guarantee a ranking. Our guide to SEO covers what else helps a new site get found.

Can ChatGPT or another chatbot build my website?

A chatbot can draft copy and code, but it does not give you hosting, a domain, an editor and support in one place. The builders above bundle those. In our view, treat a chatbot as a writing helper, and check what it writes.

Can AI replace a web designer?

For a simple site, often yes. For a site that has to win customers, handle custom needs or replace an older site, a designer still adds planning and judgment that a prompt does not. Many people use both.
